Hilton Head Island is the most popular vacation spot in South Carolina.

The Grand Strand South Carolina is 60 miles long. The 60 mile stretch of beaches on the SC coastline do not have any barrier islands. Most of the Grand Strand beaches have lifeguards on duty during the summer months. The area has over 120 golf courses from Georgetown to Little River. Most resorts offer golf packages and are referred to as a Golfotel.

Myrtle Beach has lots of things to do for a great family vacation like amusement parks. There is Alligator Adventure which is an Alligator park featuring snakes, tortoises and of course alligators. Myrtle Beach Pavilion has rides, games, a roller coaster and more. Myrtle Waves Water Park is a motion wave pool that also has tube slides and toddler rides. Nascar Speed Park is an amusement park with racetracks and mini golf. Ripley's Aquarium has lots of fish, turtles and Sharks. Mrytle Beach has lots of entertainment, shops, galleries, and golf courses.

Grand Strand Resorts include Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Litchfield Beach and Pawleys Island. They are located north of Charleston.

Myrtle Beach State Park is located 4 miles south of Myrtle Beach on US-17 Business, across from the airport. It is has about 312 acres of beachfront property. You can camp, picnic, fish, hike and more. There is a pier here too.

Pawley's Island is near Litchfield Beach has quiet beaches because most are private.

Huntington Beach State Park has a beautiful beach and marshland with lots of birds. It located on US-17 South of Mrytle Beach near Murrells Inlet. There are boardwalks here for Fishing or crabbing. You can camp, hike, go bird watching, picnic and more outdoor nature stuff.

Kiawah Island is 21 miles south of Charleston. Find Beachwalker county Park, a public park. There is a kids camp, Golf, tennis, nature, canoeing, sea kayaking, bird watching and more

Wild Dunes is a Golf and tennis resort located 15 miles north of Charleston on the Isle of Palms.

Near Charleston is Folly Beach County Beach. Isle of Palms County Park is 25 minutes from Charleston and open to the public.

Hunting Island State Park is located east of Beaufort off US-21 south.  Good place for Fishing and bird watching.  There is a lighthouse here.

Hilton Head Island has the best beaches in South Carolina and some say the US East coast. To get to Hilton Head Island take I-95 to US-278 East, south of Beaufort. There are Golf courses, tennis courts, boutiques, shops, outlet malls, resorts and the Harbor Towne Lighthouse with a gift shop at the top.  At Hilton Head you can watch for Bottlenose Dolphins at Dolphin Head located at Hilton Head Plantation on the northern shore of the island. There are bluffs overlooking the Point Royal Sound where you can spot dolphins from a top. Hilton Head Beach is on the East end of the Island and located on Port Royal Plantation. Great views and hikes. North Forest Beach is on the south end of the island and so is South Beach which is Hilton Island's widest beach.  Things to do: Clamming, fishing, bird watching, dolphin watching, picnicking, hiking, tennis playing, golfing, sunbathing and lots more. There are some great seafood restaurants and night clubs. Hilton Head is so popular there is no off-season. Hardeeville is about 15 miles away.

Daufuskie Island Resort is a 8 square mile island with two 18 hole golf courses. You can go kayaking, parasailing, jet skiing, play tennis and more outdoor activities. However, you can't drive your car. No cars are permitted on the island. There are shuttles, golf carts and bicycles available to rent. To get to the resort, take the cruise boat that leaves Hilton Head Island at the Embarkation center. It leaves every 2 hours. Starting at 8 a.m.
