2 CoolGrips

Develop the correct grip pressure with CoolGrip. Gripping the club too tightly reduces performance in distance and direction. Too much pressure causes muscle tension in the hand, wrist, arm, and shoulders. It also impedes the natural flow of the swing. A legendary PGA Tour player advised, "Grip as if you are holding a small bird." The #1 Player in the world states, "Light is Right." CoolGrip helps develop a light and natural grip. CoolGrip emits a soft audible signal when your grip pressure exceeds the correct level. In that case, relax your hands, forearms, shoulders and neck, and try to swing your club again without activating CoolGrip. CoolGrip will produce up to 300 sounds before it expires. Dean Reinmuth, PGA Teaching Professional "I believe it is far more important to focus on the motion of the swing. Motion is destroyed by tension, so I also teach the importance of locating tension and eliminating it, helping you swing the club on a more consistent path and with greater speed. CoolGrip is a terrific self-help tool." The Ultimate Low Cost Solution for Perfect Training The Problem: Many golfers grip the club too tightly, producing rigidity in the swing. Developing the perfect swing requires controlled body coordination, correct speed and plane, smooth follow-through and the correct grip pressure. The Product: To develop COOLGRIPT the grip pressures of players with various handicaps was recorded. Grip pressure was measured through all phases of the swing and on a variety of clubs. By comparing pressure with handicap it was determined that experienced players generally apply a lighter grip pressure. COOLGRIPT triggers a sound warning whenever grip pressure exceeds the optimum level. The sound level identifies an upper threshold of grip pressure. There are multiple factors involved in the game of golf, so there can be no absolutes. However, achieving a lighter grip pressure has been shown to result in improved performance. COOLGRIPT technology provides a simple, inexpensive self-training tool to assist the golfer to develop a lighter grip. ÿ The Challenge: The technological challenge was how to produce a training tool containing pressure sensors, a power supply and a sound emitter into a pocket-size, weightless, low-cost unit able to fit on all clubs in a manner imperceptible to the golfer and requiring no change to the normal grip. The challenge took more than one million dollars to accomplish. The result is CoolGripT, the latest new golf technology and winner of the First Prize in the 2003 European competition for new inventions. Instructions: Grip a driver, iron, wedge or putter. Note where your hands normally rest on the grip. Pull back and remove the white tabs to expose the adhesive layer. Place CoolGripT where your hands naturally rest on the grip. If right handed, place the thumb of your left hand below the bump in the center of CoolGripT. Then place your right hand in the normal position, without putting pressure directly onto the bump. If left handed, reverse the procedure. Press gently to attach. CoolGripT emits a soft audible signal when your grip pressure exceeds the correct level. CoolGripT will produce up to 300 sounds before it expires. To Remove: When CoolGripT has expired, remove the unit from the club. Use a damp cloth to remove any residue left on the grip. How to Practice with CoolGrip 1. Address (No Sound) No Pressure at address allows the club to be taken back in a smooth rhythmic move. 2. Take Away (No Sound) This allows better balance and weight transfer while still keeping pressure off the grip 3. Top of The Swing - Sound (Chirp) You will hear the sound at the top of the swingÿbecause of the load factor - but by this time you are assured of better results.
