Many of the parking areas are metered. Some of the Beach parks charge a parking fee.  Beach parks have showers, changing areas and restrooms.

All beaches on Hilton Head Island are public. However, most access to the beach is private.

There are 7 public beach accesses within the town of Hilton Head. They are as follows:

  1. Folly Field Beach Park via Folly Field Rd
  2. Islanders Beach Park via Folly Field Rd
  3. Burkes Beach Access via Burkes Beach Rd
  4. Alder Lane Beach Access via South Forest Beach Drive
  5. Fish Haul Park via Beach City Rd
  6. Coligny Beach Park via Coligny Circle
  7. Dreiessen Beach Park via Bradley Beach Rd

There are clearly marked designated swimming areas posted at Islanders, Folly field, Driessen, Coligny and Alder beaches. Lifeguards are stationed in the designated swimming areas. If you see a caution yellow flag, ask a lifeguard before going in the ocean. there is a beach patrol.
