New Bern North Carolina tourism

New Bern NC home of Tryon Palace which was the British royal governor’s palace in colonial days and during the American Revolution. So, there is lots of historic sites to see in New Bern. Visiting Tryon Palace is fun especially for kids. There are re-enactors, hands on exhibits with simulators and costumed interpreters that bring history to life. Both kids and grown-ups will find Tryon Palace a very interesting place to visit with their living history displays. You can explore the gardens too if you like flowers. When you finish exploring Tryon Palace, tour the other historic homes in the area. See the Fireman’s museum. As you explore New Bern, look for the Bear Town Bears. Local artists have hand-painted life size model bears made from fiberglass. There are 50 bears located throughout the city. The bear is a symbol of the historic town since colonial days. Roanoke Island North Carolina

Although Roanoke Island is a small island on the Outer Banks of NC, there is plenty of things to see and do here. You can easily spend the day exploring historic sites, beautiful gardens, boating, watching the Lost Colony and more.
