Fort Raleigh is located north of Manteo on Roanoke Island off the North Carolina Coast. It is within the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. There is a park service office, a visitors center, the lost colony waterside theater and the 4 century old earthworks of what is thought to be the first English colonists fort. It is a quiet area off teh beaten path. Nearby is the beautiful Elizabethan gardens. This is a great place to visit after a few days at the beach.

I’ve been browsing through a brochure on lodging in North Myrtle beach to get an idea on what’s available. You can book a hotel room, rent a cottage, Beach house, condo or a villa. The properties range from one to eight bedrooms. Some are located Oceanfront and some are a ways from the beach. Some of the condominiums feature outdoor/indoor swimming pools, jacuzzis,  hot tubs, lazy rivers and more amenities. Some provide linens, others dont.
